Zoo Med Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter is a heat source which doesn’t emit any light. It can be used for all kinds of amphibians, reptiles and plant terrariums. It is the ideal 24 hour heat resource for all desert and tropical reptiles.

Zoo Med Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter contains a porcelain heating device which is screwed into a porcelain incandescent socket. The intense infrared heat emitted by this heat emitter penetrates into the muscles of the animals. It also increases the air temperature of your terrarium by 10° to 20°F above the outside temperature. Thus it is very useful in terrariums where tropical type reptiles like tegus, monitor lizards, pythons, green iguanas and boas are kept. This heater is also suitable for desert reptiles which require high temperatures.

Zoo Med Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter heats the muscles of the animal in the terrarium. Hence it is best heat emitter available for the cold blooded reptiles. As it first heats the outside, it is also good for warm blooded animals. Some animals are annoyed by light. Zoo Med Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter is suitable for those animals.

Zoo Med Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter lasts for up to 5 years. It has an average life of 25,000 hours. The flat-faced design is superior to conical designs because it is more professional and longer lasting. Flat designs leave less heat within the emitter which will finally carbonize the element. Since it is water resistant, it is ultimate for high humidity terrariums.

During winter months if Zoo Med Repticare Ceramic Infrared Heat Emitter is placed in an outdoor pond it serves as an excellent heater for the pond critters. This heater also works great for the chicken. For reptile terrariums, it is the only UL tested heating device.
